What is Google Trend?

The first time we learned that Google Trends existed was in 2006 when the company released a tool to track the evolution of keyword-based searches. In other words, it’s a tool that allows you to analyze a keyword in such a way that you know how to search for it in years, months, weeks, or days.

Google Trends can be thought of as a concept, a tool that analyzes the popularity of words or terms to determine if they are trending or, conversely, declining. In addition, it provides other data such as demographics, related searches, related topics, and more.

This feature of Google is completely free and does not require prior registration or a link to any email. Many SEO professionals or digital marketing experts consider it their job. Use with great results. Although we can’t tell you that this is a unique thing, they actually combine it with other tools (free or even paid).

What is Google Trend made of?

First, when you come to the page and put a term for control, the data thrown at you by this tool can overwhelm you, but it is straightforward to understand in reality. And it will not only show you the trend of the words you have entered but much more. Specific:

  • Search volume. The word behaves based on a few days, weeks, months, or even years.
  • Find trends. This will tell you if your words are increasing or decreasing in traffic. What is it for? To determine if this is a word that can work now or in the short term (e.g., Valentine’s Day), it may increase in mid-January but, after February 20, It will fall until it disappears by next year)).
  • A forecast is part of Google Trends is unknown, but it will help you figure out whether the password is trained in a certain time (up or down).
  • Related searches. Those are words that are also searched by the term you enter.
  • Filter Search This tool will allow you to search by geographic location, category, date.

Why use this tool for your e-commerce?

If you have an online store, even when you don’t have a marketing strategy, Google Trends is essential for your Day to day life. And, although you may not believe it, it will help you know what the new trends are, which users are looking for the most, and so on. In other words, it can help you decide which products will be successful in your e-commerce.

For example, suppose you have a shoe store, and it shows that a certain brand of shoes is growing like foam in Google Trends. And you have them sold and cheaper than their sellers. Taking advantage of the pull and investing a little money in promoting this particular product can increase your visits and sales because you provide things that people are looking for.

It also helps you optimize your product files. And that is, with the help of the most relevant keywords, you will be able to define the text of each product so that Google crawlers improve your position (many people still don’t know what it’s like to have real and unique text on a card Better a poor horse than no horse at all.

How to use Google Trends

And now we come to the subject where we talk about the middle ground. To do this, the first step is to go to the Google Trends tool. By default, in the upper right, it should have Spain as the country (if you are in Spain), but you can change the country where you are.

On the main screen, you will see how some examples are shown but be careful. They are not figures from Spain, but from the United States or around the world; with the help, they cannot help you.

If you go down a bit, you will find out what the current world trends are and below, year after year searches (you can find Spanish terms here). There is also a search box. This is where you should enter the search term or title. For example, hit (or enter) the eCommerce magnifying glass, and it will take you to the results page.

The results page shows you a lot of things. But what we consider most important is:

  • Country. It will add Spain, but here you can also change the country to which you are interested.
  • This period always comes up by default in the last 12 months, but you can change it for several options: from 2004 to date, in the last five years, last 90 days, last 30 days, last Day, last Day, last 7 hours, last minute.
  • All categories Allow you to specify the exact search for specific words and terms that may have multiple concepts.
  • By default, you will have a web search, but you can also search by image, news, Google Shopping (best for e-commerce), or YouTube.

You will have a graph that will change as you edit your previous data at the very bottom.

As you can see, your keywords appear at the top, but if you look closely, there is a column called “Comparison.” It provides space for another keyword that interests you and finds out which one is stronger or looking for more.

Then it appears to you that the term is of interest to the country, so they will tell you which are the independent parties that search for the term the most (to find out it is your community or Ideal for the city, especially if your e-commerce is more local).

Finally, you have two columns. One is related topics: words or terms related to the word you are looking for. On the other hand, you have relevant questions, that is, related to other keywords you are looking for, and this may be a better option.
